The Best Wrestelmania 36 Betting Odds and Predictions
By: Kerby Rodriguez
Well here we are, at the most unlikely of all scenarios. The Road to Wrestlemania took the sharpest of all left turns with a pandemic destroying the entire weekend, splitting the show in two, cancelling the Hall of Fame ceremony, and leaving us with a taped show with no fans in attendance. Pro Wrestling was ravaged by this pandemic and before I dive into talking about WWE, I want to bring attention to the world of independent wrestling.
The amount of independent shows that were cancelled due to this debacle is insane. Independent wrestlers are the backbone of the pro wrestling world and we need them to succeed in order for them to make it big time with companies like WWE and AEW. So, if you can spare a dime please buy merchandise from independent wrestlers, subscribe to their patreons, watch their matches and let’s try to support them during this very difficult time.
Now as previously mentioned, Wrestlemania will take place over the course of two nights (Sat. 4/4 and Sun. 4/5) and at this moment WWE has not announced which matches are taking place at each day, therefore I will focus on the three important matches of the card overall, but keep in mind that these matches might take place on separate days over the weekend.
Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Drew McIntyre – WWE Championship Match Odds
This was supposed to be Drew McIntyre’s crowning moment, after waiting over a decade the moment has arrived for Drew. The betting odds agree as they favor McIntyre (-350) over The Champion (+225). It’s sad to think there will be no fans there to rally behind Drew and cheer as he wins his first ever WWE Championship and I wish I could offer some solace or some hindsight to make it better, but it is what it is. Drew will more than likely still win, and we’ll cheer from home.
Becky Lynch (c) vs. Shayna Baszler – Raw Women’s Championship Match Odds
After holding the Raw Women’s Championship for over a year, it is time for Becky Lynch to taste defeat. The betting odds agree by backing Baszler (-180) over Lynch (+140). Becky has been nothing but dominant over the past year and Shayna Baszler is the only person on the roster that legitimately looks like she could end Becky’s dominance over the Raw Women’s Division. I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, the money’s in the chase and Becky needs to chase the championship again.
Edge vs. Randy Orton – Last Man Standing Match Odds
Look if this match doesn’t main event one of the nights then something is severely wrong with whomever put the show together. This is the most personal rivalry in WWE and Edge’s first Wrestlemania match since 2011 when he defended the World Title at Wrestlemania 27. Edge is obviously favored here (-500) over Orton (+300) and why wouldn’t he? It’s his first match in a decade, Orton has been a major, ummm,
(insert phrase for illegitimate offspring) to him (and his wife) during this feud and it’s time for Edge to get his and put Orton away.
There you have it, your Wrestlemania predictions. I don’t know how I feel with WWE going forward with the show but at the very least they’re providing us with entertainment to keep our minds busy and distracted from these crazy times we’re living. I encourage everyone to please remain home if you don’t have to go out, wash your hands and join me over on twitter (@its_kerby) to watch Wrestlemania this Saturday and Sunday. Please stay safe!
