Chelsea v Tottenham Betting Prediction, Week 10

This could be the most interesting clash to date in the Premier League this season as 3rd place Chelsea host 2nd place Tottenham Hotspur with the winner of the match heading top of the table.

They are both in great form heading into Sunday with Chelsea winning their last three games and Tottenham having won four in a row, the joint-longest (Everton) win streak in the Premier League this season.

It’s not only an interesting match-up on the pitch but also on the touchline as it’s yet another meeting between Frank Lampard and Jose Mourinho. The Spurs’ coach was Lampard’s manager at Chelsea in two separate stints.

Lampard is unbeaten against his former manager in the Premier League, having completed the double over him last season in a 2-0 and 2-1 win.

The Englishman did lose his last match against Mourinho as they lost on penalties in the fourth round of the EPL Cup.

How Will the Return of Christian Pulisic Change the Chelsea Odds?

With Christian Pulisic back from injury after a month out, conversations about his ability being similar to former Chelsea man Eden Hazard have been reignited and Lampard was quick to pour water on expectations from not only Pulisic but new signing Hakim Ziyech.

Lampard said: “It is very hard to fill one-for-one a player of Eden’s talents.

“His input at the club was huge.

“I’ve been talking a lot about Harry Kane today and it’s an impact relative to the kind Harry has had with goals and assists they make for their team.

“To lose that, you have to try to find a way around it.

“With the transfer ban last year, it was more about the younger players coming in and how we could become more efficient as a team.

“We made really good steps and now, with the players we have brought in, I would hate to give any of them the job or idea of ‘you must replace Eden’.’

After losing Hazard, Lampard was backed in the transfer market and the pressure was apparent earlier on in the season when results weren’t as positive as they are now for Chelsea.

Jose Mourinho, who knows a few things about pressure said he enjoys having less pressure at a side like Tottenham where the financial capabilities of the club is not as strong as his former sides such as Chelsea or Real Madrid.

“What I felt is that when I was in these clubs, there was huge pressure on me and now there is not huge pressure on the coaches of these teams. Put a little bit of pressure on them and leave us in peace, doing our job.”

Chelsea Betting Prediction… Will We Have a Winner?

You can tell that it is paying off as Tottenham look like early title contenders and a win over their bitter rivals can only strengthen that cause.

I think both teams play out to an exciting 1-1 draw which would result in Tottenham going top of the league on goal difference.

Odds on a Chelsea win open at +105. Odds on a Tottenham Hotspur win open at +190. Odds on a draw between the two sides open at +170.

Brighton & Hove Albion v Liverpool Betting Prediction Week 10

Liverpool return to Premier League action in the early kick-off against Brighton & Hove Albion, much to Jurgen Klopp’s dismay.

A European tie against Atalanta on Wednesday meant Klopp was forced to rotate his squad in preparation for a quick turnaround on Saturday.

Klopp has consistently been a vocal critic and a thorn in the side of the Premier League on the issue of scheduling Saturday early afternoon games for teams who played in midweek. The German stood up for Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, after United were forced to play Everton in the early kick-off this past month after playing in mid-week.

Liverpool find themselves in the same position this weekend and Klopp believes his words are falling on deaf ears.

“Look, I talk about these kind of things when I think it makes sense and when I think it’s necessary,” Klopp said.

“I spoke about all these things a lot in the last few weeks, that we have to save the players. That’s over now. I can’t do anything about it, so I don’t think about it in this moment.

“My only concern now is we have to use the few hours we have to make them as fresh as possible. I’m not a miracle worker, I cannot do that, but we have to make sure that whatever we can do from a recovery point of view we do, and we did. The boys are fit and good and we have to make sure we play a good game.

“What’s really tricky is you ask me these questions knowing it’s an issue but are not working on sorting the issue.”

Liverpool Betting Pick After the Quick Turnaround

Liverpool face a tricky test against Brighton & Hove Albion who’ve lost just once in their last five games.

A massive boost ahead of the game for Liverpool was the return of captain Jordan Henderson to training who’s in contention to start on the weekend as well Mohamed Salah who has recovered from COVID-19.

However, Thiago Alcantara, Naby Keita and Xherdan Shaqiri remain out with injury.

A player who has benefited from Liverpool’s mounting injury problems is 19-year-old Curtis Jones who’s started the last two games in all competitions.

Jones thanked Klopp for his faith in him and believes he is learning more with each appearance.

“Especially in the team I’m playing in, the depth of the squad is big… there are a lot of players unavailable but for him and his staff to have the trust in me to put me out there on such a big level at such a young age is massive for me,” the No.17 told Premier League Productions.

“It’s definitely a positive. I can’t wait to get a few more appearances hopefully.

“I’ve always said that regardless of when I’m called upon, in any sort of game for however long he puts me on for, I’ll always give 100 per cent. I think that has paid off and now I’ve started to get rewarded with starting and stuff.

Even with Liverpool’s injury issues, I expect them to grab all three points against Brighton in a 2-0 win.

Odds on a Liverpool open at -162. Odds on a Brighton home win open at +425. Odds on a draw between the two sides open at +310.

Liverpool v Leicester City Betting Prediction for Week 9

Liverpool host Leicester City on Sunday evening in what is billed to be an entertaining clash between the two top sides in the Premier League.

Liverpool are nursing several injuries and will field a drastic starting line-up with a possible change in tactics.

With both Virgil Van Dijk and Joe Gomez out for the foreseeable future, Liverpool’s strategy of playing a high line is one that could get them into more trouble rather than preventing it.

Especially, coming up against a Leicester City with Jamie Vardy spearheading the attack, a high line even with Van Dijk and Gomez is already a risky move but without them, you’d be playing right into the Englishman’s hands.

Fabinho and Thiago Alcantara both face late fitness tests as they look to make their return to the line-up after their respective injuries.

Can Liverpool Maintain Their Excellent Form?

Liverpool are unbeaten in four games in the league and seven in all competitions, but they are coming up against a Leicester City who’ve won three games on the trot and look even better this season than they did the last.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp heaped praise on Jamie Vardy ahead of the clash on Sunday.

“It is incredible how smart Vardy still is, how he uses his speed and anticipation,” Klopp said. “His technical level is really good too; he takes risks and gambles in a good way. He’s a proper, proper player.”

Klopp also made his feelings known (once again) on the Premier League’s decision not to allow five substitutions in a game and talked about his worry that players will continue to suffer injuries especially in the busy winter period of the Premier League as well as European competitions.

Klopp’s Thoughts on the Votes and Liverpool Betting Prediction

“There was a meeting of managers during the international break and I can tell you that had a vote been allowed it would have been 15-5 in favour of five substitutes,” he said. “But managers aren’t allowed to vote, so nothing could be changed.

“It’s frustrating, but we are just going to get on with it. We are not looking for excuses. At this club we have a lot of information about the physical state of our players and we have some young players in reserve who I am confident will be able to step up when needed.

“I don’t know if it will be possible to do anything in January, but I am happy to use some of the boys we already have. We don’t feel sorry for ourselves at this club, we look for solutions.”

Even without Liverpool’s multiple casualties, I think they grab a 2-1 result at home against a tough Leicester City side.

Sportsbooks odds on a Liverpool win open at -125. Odds on Leicester winning their fourth win in a row open at +290. Odds on a draw between the two sides open at +310.
