Dolphins at Jets Betting Preview: Dolphins (-7/-103), Jets (+7/-120)

Miami Dolphins

Rookie Tua Tagovailoa aims to rebound from being benched in a 20-13 loss to Denver on Sunday when he faces the Jets, against whom he made his NFL career debut on Oct. 18. The fifth overall pick of the 2020 NFL Draft completed both of his pass attempts in a cameo appearance to put the finishing touches on Miami’s 24-0 romp over New York.

The Dolphins (6-4) had won five in a row before more than being doubled up in total yards by the Broncos (459-223). DeVante Parker, who found the end zone for the second time in four games on Sunday, leads the team in catches (44) and receiving yards (523) while his four touchdown receptions are tied with injured Preston Williams for the club lead.

Salvon Ahmed has made the most of the injury absence of fellow rookie Myles Gaskin (knee), highlighted by his five-reception performance against Denver. Gaskin, who is eligible to return from injured reserve this weekend, rushed for 91 yards in the first meeting to help Miami improve to 5-1 in its last six encounters with New York.

New York Jets

Coach Adam Gase will look to record the Jets’ first win of the season against his former team, however his current charges have looked every bit the part of an 0-10 team. New York has surrendered at least 30 points in seven of those losses, including a 34-28 setback to the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.

Joe Flacco completed just 47.7 percent of his passes for 186 yards with an interception in last month’s loss at Miami. The 35-year-old threw five touchdown passes over his next two starts, but Sam Darnold (shoulder) is “trending in the right direction” to start versus the Dolphins after returning to practice on Wednesday for the first time in nearly three weeks.

The ageless Frank Gore will lead a backfield that also will include Ty Johnson and practice squad call-up Josh Adams on Sunday after rookie La’Mical Perine (ankle) was placed on injured reserve. Gore posted a season-high 71 yards from scrimmage (61 rushing, 10 receiving) last week while finding the end zone for the first time this season.

Dolphins at Jets Betting Pick for Week 12

The Dolphins couldn’t have asked for a better opponent to get Tagovailoa back on his feet, considering the Jets rank second-to-last in scoring defense (30.2 per game) and 30th in passing yards (288.3).

While all eyes will be on the development of Tagovailoa for the future, Miami’s opportunistic defense likely will give New York fits on Sunday. The Dolphins are tied for third in the NFL in turnovers forced with 17, and that number likely will rise in what should be a convincing victory.

Dolphins at Jets Betting Pick: Dolphins 27, Jets 10

Dolphins at Jets Best Bet for Week 12

Gase continues to be on the hot seat with New York averaging NFL worsts in points per game (14.9), passing yards (170.0) and total yards (268.6). Those numbers likely aren’t going to get any better after Sunday.

Dolphins at Jets Best Bet: UNDER 44.5 total points (-110)

Miami Dolphins at Denver Broncos Betting Preview

Miami Dolphins at Denver Broncos Betting Preview: Dolphins (-3.5/-103), Broncos (+3.5/-121)

Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins (6-3) bid for their sixth straight victory on Sunday behind rookie Tua Tagovailoa, who has thrown five touchdown passes without an interception over his three starts this season. Tagovailoa found the end zone twice for the second straight game in Miami’s 29-21 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.

Salvon Ahmed has made the most of his playing time in place of the injured Myles Gaskin (knee), following up a 5.4 yards per carry performance against Arizona on Nov. 8 with 85 yards and a touchdown versus the Chargers. Fellow running back Matt Breida is trending in the right direction after being a full participant in practice on Wednesday for the first time since sustaining a hamstring injury.

DeVante Parker, who leads the team in receptions (38) and receiving yards (462), has mustered just 14 catches for 183 yards in his last five games. Diminutive wideout Jakeem Grant has come on strong with four receptions in three of his last four games.

Denver Broncos

While the Dolphins are ascending, the Broncos (3-6) have dropped three of four and could be forced to take another turn on the quarterback carousel. Drew Lock, who threw a career-high four interceptions in Denver’s 37-12 setback to Las Vegas on Sunday, is nursing a rib injury that could put backup Brett Rypien under center this weekend.

The Broncos’ running game has failed to get untracked this season, with Phillip Lindsay repeatedly nursing injuries while he attempts to aid Melvin Gordon in the backfield. Denver’s 19th-ranked rushing game mustered just 66 yards versus Las Vegas.

Rookie Jerry Jeudy is leading the team in average yards per catch (16.2) and receiving yards (552), including 17.7 and 266 being accumulated over the last three games. Tight end Noah Fant, who leads the team in catches (35), now is nursing an injury to his ribs after being hobbled by an ailing ankle.

Dolphins at Broncos Betting Pick for Week 11

Miami’s opportunistic defense likely will be relishing the chance to greet Rypien, who has tossed four interceptions in two games this season. The Dolphins’ defense is tied for fourth in the NFL with 15 takeaways and seven fumble recoveries.

That defense will present Tagovailoa with a short field to work his magic, ultimately resulting in a convincing victory for a Miami team eyeing the penthouse in the AFC East.

Dolphins at Broncos Betting Pick: Dolphins 28, Broncos 13

Dolphins at Broncos Best Bet for Week 11

While Tagovailoa has been victorious, he hasn’t exactly been lighting the world on fire. His efficient and mistake-free performances are gold in the eyes of Brian Flores, however, the scoreboard operator may not be as impressed.

Dolphins at Broncos Best Bet: UNDER 45 (-110)
