Kerby Rodriguez’s AEW Double or Nothing Betting Odds and Predictions
As we continue to navigate the world of professional wrestling through this unprecedented time, All Elite Wrestling was set to perform what supposed to be one of their biggest shows of the year with Double or Nothing. Originally the event was scheduled for the MGM Grand Casino in Las Vegas (and so is next year’s show, fingers crossed) but this Saturday they’ll be live from what has become the home base for AEW during these trying times, Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, Florida.
The way AEW has been running shows during the build up to Double or Nothing and it has made for a lot of compelling stories heading into Saturday’s show. We have a lot of big matches on hand so let us run down the betting odds and my predictions for the show.
The AEW All or Nothing Main Event Betting Odds and Prediction
The Inner Circle (Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevara, Jake Hager, Santana and Ortiz) vs. The Elite (Matt and Nick Jackson, Hangman Adam Page, Kenny Omega and Matt Hardy) – Stadium Stampede Match
Do I know what a Stadium Stampede match is? No. No one does. Am I sure this match is going to be absolute fun madness? Yes. 100%. The latest betting odds favor The Inner Circle (-180) over The Elite (+140) and it all comes down to cohesiveness. The Inner Circle works well together both in story and out of the ring and while The Elite has years of friendship to rely, the story being told on the show points at Hangman being fed up and tired of The Elite’s antics (totally granted, by the way. In this house we support Adam Page).
The bottom line here is that there is tension within The Elite whereas The Inner Circle is entering this match as a cohesive unit, hence why both this writer and the betting odds favor Jericho’s team of misfits to walk out victorious. In the immortal words of Chris Jericho “Long Live, The Inner Circle!”
AEW TNT Championship Odds and Betting Prediction
CODY vs. Lance Archer – Tournament Final for the TNT Championship
During my weekly reviews of AEW Dynamite (available every Thursday morning on youtube.com/thewrestlingspace) I have been debating the result of this match. It all boils down to this, Lance Archer has been booked in such a perfect incredible way that I want him to move to the World Title picture, but also I feel he shouldn’t lose his first big match.
Meanwhile before these unprecedented times began, CODY was the most over person in the company which begs the question do you save the big win for when we finally have an audience and he can bask in the glory? Or do you put the title on him now and move Archer to the World Title contention?
The betting odds for this match favor Lance Archer (-150) over CODY (+110) and it makes sense, CODY has shown time and time again that while he does see himself as a top talent, he’s also aware he’s a top executive in the company, with the lack of audience and CODY’s reservation in booking himself in big moments it makes sense for Archer to walk out victorious on Saturday.
AEW World Championship Match Betting Odds and Prediction at AEW All or Nothing
Jon Moxley (c) vs. Mr. Brodie Lee – AEW World Championship Match
Mr. Brodie Lee has been having a lot of trouble getting the ground going on All Elite Wrestling. The comparisons to the head of a rival wrestling company really put his character development on a halt (specially the overuse of the ‘Mr.’). Meanwhile Jon Moxley allowed Lee to steal his World Championship belt without actually doing much to get it back.
The odds favor Moxley (-250) over Lee (+170) and it makes sense; Lee needs to tweak his character a little more and Moxley needs something to really sink his teeth into and show how good of a storyteller he can be as World Champion.
So that’s it for the predictions for this Saturday’s Double or Nothing show. You can join me on twitter (@its_kerby) to live tweet the show this weekend and join me every Thursday on YouTube for AEW recaps and reactions. Stay home and stay safe, everybody!
