Liverpool v Atalanta Betting Prediction Matchday Four

Liverpool follow up their 3-0 win over Leicester City on the weekend with a second match-up with Italian side Atalanta.

The Reds decimated the free-scoring side 5-0 in the reverse fixture with Diogo Jota netting his first hat-trick in Liverpool colors.

Liverpool are unbeaten in the Champions League and are yet to concede in a competition which is a contrast to their defensive record in the Premier League, a competition in which they’ve conceded 16 goals, the most in the top half of the table.

With the upcoming winter schedule, teams playing in different competitions will need to rotate and with Liverpool’s mounting injury problems, Jurgen Klopp will find it harder than ever.

How Curtis Jones is Making Liverpool Fans Happy

The emergence of Curtis Jones as a regular squad player has been one of delight for the fans and especially the Liverpool natives to see one of their own in the starting line-up (as well as Trent Alexander-Arnold).

Klopp was asked about the midfielder’s development and he was ecstatic about the youngster’s growth since the German’s arrival in 2015.

“I’m five years in the club and I think five years ago I saw him the first time and everybody could see already what an exceptional player he can be. When you are in an environment like a top-class football team and you are one of the top talents in the club, a lot of things can happen to you as a person.

“His personal development is even more positive than his sports development. Great lad, really super player and it’s really good for us – last season already but this season especially. So, he just made the next step. I’m pleased for him and good for us as well.”

Jones is likely to start on Wednesday with Jordan Henderson, Naby Keita and Thiago Alcantara all out with injury where three points will be enough for Liverpool to qualify for the knockout stages.

Klopp was asked on whether a win against Atalanta could take the pressure off the final two matches of the group stages.

“Yeah, but you can only play one game. We cannot play two or three games in one. I know, it’s all clear, that’s all on the table, we don’t have to mention it. Everybody knows if we would win then some problems would be sorted, but that’s not the reason.”

Liverpool Betting Prediction to Take Advantage of a Cooling Atalanta Club

Atalanta’s form has cooled in recent months with one win in their last five league games and just three goals scored in their last three games which is quite minimal once you get used to Atalanta’s goalscoring exploits.

The Serie A side must get something from the game at Anfield if they have any hope of clinching the second seed ahead of Ajax who face Midtjylland tonight.

Liverpool will do the double over Atalanta but in a more tightly fought contest this time.

Odds on a Liverpool win open at -167. Odds on an Atalanta win open at +375. Odds on a draw between the two sides open at +350.
