Everton vs Manchester City

09/28/19, 17:30 PM Kick-Off (BST)

2019/20 Premier League Season, Week 7

Manchester City Odds Against Everton

Manchester City are coming off a league win in which was their biggest of all time, defeating Watford 8-0 last Sunday, scoring five just 18 minutes into the game. City were coming off a shock 3-2 loss to newly promoted Norwich City which left them five points adrift of Liverpool just five weeks into the season.

Bernardo Silva, who scored his first career hat-trick in the win over Watford said,“After the Norwich defeat, it was great to give our fans the result and the performance.”

A huge vote of confidence going into the late kick off game at Goodison Park against Everton, which always proves to be an entertaining game. Everton haven’t fared too well in recent fixtures against Manchester City, with one win in their last eight games against them.

That one win however was the famous 4-0 win in Pep Guardiola’s debut season with City, but apart from that, they’re currently on a three-match losing streak to City.

Sportsbooks has odds on a City win over Everton which open at -333. While an Everton win, according to sportsbooks open at +800. Odds on a tie between the two clubs, according to sportsbooks open at +450.

Despite spending huge amounts of money this summer on Jean-Philippe Gbamin, Andre Gomes, Moise Kean and Alex Iwobi, Everton have once again underwhelmed this season in their race to break through the top 6 of the Premier League.

Everton have won two, tied one and lost three in their first six games of the season, losing 2-0 at home to newly-promoted Sheffield United in a disappointing affair last Saturday.

Understanding Manchester City Odds Trough Its City’s Record-Breaking Attack

Manchester City scored a club-record 169 goals last season in all competitions on their way to a domestic treble. City most probably possess the best attacking group of talent in the world. They have the likes of Sergio Aguero, Gabriel Jesus, Raheem Sterling, Leroy Sane, Riyad Mahrez and Bernardo Silva at their attacking disposal. They’ve scored 20 goals in their last five games and 24 goals already this season in the Premier League with three players with four or more Premier League goals.

While City remain the sportsbooks favourites to win the Premier League three years in a row, Liverpool are hot on their heels and are already five points of City who have just one senior centre back who is fit in Nicolas Otamendi, after a knee injury ruled Aymeric Laporte for up to six months and a muscle injury left City without other centre back John Stones for up to five months.

Aguero, who is the current top scorer of the Premier League with eight goals, has odds on netting against Everton opening at -162.

Everton have making up to do to the Goodison Park faithful who watched an anemic 2-0 home loss against Sheffield United last Saturday. While I believe there will a rise in Everton’s performance, Manchester City will prove too much to handle and I expect City to leave Goodison Park with three points.
