Dallas Stars Odds
The Dallas Stars can punch their ticket to the Western Conference finals for the first time since 2008 with a win on Monday against the Colorado Avalanche in Edmonton.
Dallas continued its high-octane offense by scoring five goals for the third time in four games in Sunday’s 5-4 victory, giving the Stars a 3-1 edge in the best-of-seven series. Miro Heiskanen set up Radek Faksa’s power-play goal in the first period for his team-leading 16th point, giving him the franchise record for most in a postseason by a defenseman.
Captain Jamie Benn scored in his second consecutive contest and carries a four-game point streak (two goals, five assists) into Monday’s encounter.
Colorado Avalanche Odds
The Colorado Avalanche aim to stave off elimination on Monday when they play Game 5 of their best-of-seven Western Conference semifinal series against the Dallas Stars in Edmonton.
Hart Trophy finalist Nathan MacKinnon notched an assist in Sunday’s 5-4 setback to Dallas, which owns a 3-1 edge in the series. MacKinnon carries a 12-game point streak (seven goals, 14 assists) into Monday’s tilt, marking the sixth longest such run from the start of a postseason in NHL history.
Calder Trophy finalist Cale Makar scored and set up a goal to boost his point total to 13 (three goals, 10 assists), marking the most in the playoffs by an Avalanche defenseman since Greg de Vries in 2002.
