Jordan Binnington (Vezina Trophy Odds: +250)
Jordan Binnington is looking to repeat the success he had last season when he won the Stanley Cup with the Blues, but the St. Louis goaltender is having a rough go of it as of late. Binnington is just 2-3-1 with an abysmal .860 save percentage (129 saves on 150 shots) since Jan. 15.
Luckily for Binnington, the rest of the season has been pretty good as he is still second in the league with 24 wins and has a respectable .910 save percentage. However, those numbers aren’t good enough to win the Vezina Trophy. Stay away for now until his odds – or performance – improve.
Connor Hellebuyck (Vezina Trophy Odds: +300)
Connor Hellebuyck has been a workhorse for the Winnipeg Jets this season. He is tied with Carey Price for 45 games this season, with 43 of those games being starts. He doesn’t have the best defense in front of him, but he’s getting the job done.
Hellebuyck has been impressive in February, going 2-0-1 with a .947 save percentage and 1.99 goals against average. With that he has a .920 save percentage, which is top-12 in the league and better than any other goalie with more than 36 starts. Hellebuyck is still worth a few bucks at +300.
Ben Bishop (Vezina Trophy Odds: +400)
Ben Bishop is standing tall – figuratively and literally – in net for the Dallas Stars. He has a .924 save percentage on the season, which is good for eighth-best in the NHL. That’s the highest save percentage by a goalie with more than 31 starts.
Bishop was splitting time with Khudobin, but that shouldn’t hurt him too much. Hellebuyck is the top choice with Bishop not too far behind.
Tuukka Rask (Vezina Trophy Odds: +700)
Tuukka Rask has been on fire since returning from a two-week absence. He has made 91 of 94 saves in a 3-0-0 stretch, including a 25-save shutout against the Vancouver Canucks.
Rask is now tied for the league lead with a sparking .930 save percentage. He also has a very impressive 20-4-6 record. Yes, that’s just four regulation losses in 31 starts.
Bet on Rask while his odds are still high. They’re bound to come down soon.
Elvis Merzlikins (Vezina Trophy Odds: N/A)
Elvis Merzlikins has been incredible for the Columbus Blue Jackets since being called up to replace the injured Joonas Korpisalo.
Merzlikins is tied for the league lead with a .930 save percentage and leads the league with five shutouts – in just 22 starts. If the rookie keeps this up, he’ll definitely get some recognition in the voting.
