How Stanley Cup Odds/NHL Championship Odds Look After the All-Star Break

The Tampa Bay Lightning remain supreme with the best odds to win the 2020 Stanley Cup at +700. However, there are a handful of teams right behind them as well as a few longshots to keep an eye on.

Tampa Bay Lightning (73 points, Stanley Cup Odds: +800)

We’ve seen this show time and time before. The Tampa Bay Lightning are once again the favorites to win the Stanley Cup. Year in and year out the Lightning have been near the top of the contenders to take home the Cup, and that rings true again this season.

After a slow start the Lightning are surging to the top of the league. The Lightning have won five straight games, six of seven, and are 17-2-1 since December 23. It’s safe to say they’re looking like a Stanley Cup Champion. 17 wins in 20 games? Yeah, that’ll do the job.

Andrei Vasilevskiy has not lost in regulation in his past 17 starts, going 15-0-2 in that span. The former Vezina Trophy winner is showing why he’s one of the top goalies in the league on one of the top teams in the league.

The Lightning’s odds are still at +700 (or higher) to win the Cup, and that is definitely worth putting some coin down on.

St. Louis Blues (72 points, Stanley Cup Odds: +900)

The St. Louis Blues are struggling a bit as of late, but they’ve shown that they have the resiliency to bounce back from adversity. Hell, last season they went from the worst team in the league in January to winning the Stanley Cup in June. There’s nothing they can’t overcome.

The Blues are still one of the only formidable teams in the Western Conference. That’ll be big come the playoffs. They’ll be rested and relaxed while having the experience of playing in high-pressure games (see: Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final).

St. Louis has a well-balanced offense with two good top lines as well as a solid defense. Jordan Binnington is still playing well in the crease and is looking to start his career with back-to-back Stanley Cups.

The Blues’ odds went up from +800 to +900, but should go back down soon. They’re worth betting on now if you want it get on the bandwagon.

Stanley Cup Odds Longshots That are Worth Betting On?

Washington Capitals (77 points, Stanley Cup Odds: +1000)

While the Washington Capitals aren’t a long longshot, they’re being disrespected in the odds. They are the best team in the league but only have the fifth-best odds. They have one of the best goalscorers in history and a strong goalie tandem in a tested Braden Holtby as well as a young stud in Ilya Samsonov. They are well worth the +1000 odds.
