Pro Bowl RB Christian McCaffrey reportedly signing with Panthers for 4 years, $64M
After an off-season of change, the Panthers are making sure they hold on to one of their key offensive weapons for a long time. Yesterday afternoon, RB Christian McCaffrey reportedly signed a four-year extension with the Carolina Panthers worth $64 million according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network. The deal would make McCaffrey the highest-paid Running Back in the NFL annually.
McCaffrey was picked by the Panthers with the eighth overall selection in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft. The Stanford-product has started in 42 out of 48 career games. In three seasons with Carolina, he has accumulated 5443 total yards and 39 total touchdowns.
McCaffrey had his best season as a pro in 2019. He finished this past year with the most scrimmage yards in NFL as well as most total touches. McCaffrey concluded his 2019 campaign tied with Green Bay’s Aaron Jones for most total TDs in the league. His impressive year earned him a spot in the 2019 Pro Bowl and a spot on the 2019 NFL All-Pro Team.
