Cleveland Browns Odds
While the Browns made several significant moves to “win” the offseason prior to the 2019 campaign, they made a significant change after finishing 6-10 by naming offensive guru Kevin Stefanski as their head coach on Jan. 13.
Cleveland features former Heisman Trophy winner Baker Mayfield (25 TDs, 22 INTs in 2019) as well as a potent 1-2 backfield tandem of Nick Chubb (NFL second-best 1,494 rushing yards) and Kareem Hunt (37 receptions in eight games). Chubb, in fact, rushed for a season-high 165 yards and career-best three touchdowns in the Browns’ 40-25 win in Baltimore last September.
A healthy Odell Beckham Jr. looks to rebound from a down season (four touchdowns) while fellow wideout Jarvis Landry looks to ride the momentum of a career-high 1,174-yard campaign, with 241 coming in two games versus the Ravens.
Baltimore Ravens Odds
Lamar Jackson was the NFL’s second unanimous MVP last season after throwing for a league-best 36 touchdowns and rushing for seven more. Jackson threw for three TDs in Baltimore’s loss to Cleveland in September and again in a 31-15 victory over the Browns in December to cap the Ravens’ 14-2 regular season.
Tight end Mark Andrews reeled in three of those touchdown receptions against Cleveland and fellow Pro Bowl selection Mark Ingram found the end zone in the last meeting to finish the season with 15 scores (10 rushing, five receiving).
Speedy Marquise Brown showed flashes during his rookie season with seven touchdowns for the Ravens, who finished as the NFL’s highest scoring team (531 points).
Browns at Ravens Betting Pick
Coach John Harbaugh’s charges have been fuming since getting toppled by Tennessee in the divisional round in January. Anger is a heck of a motivator for the Ravens, who look to take advantage of the Browns’ makeshift offensive line in order to rattle the cage of Mayfield.
Browns at Ravens Betting Pick: Browns (+7.5), Ravens (-7.5)
Ravens 34, Browns 21
Browns at Ravens Best Bet
Cleveland’s best bet to upset Baltimore likely would be to rely heavily on its running game as a means to keep Jackson on the sideline.
Unfortunately for Stefanski and company, the game script will go out the window as the Ravens routinely occupy the scoreboard operator’s attention.
