Giants at Rams Betting Preview: Giants (+12.5/-105), Rams (-12.5/-115)
New York Giants
The Giants’ defense, in the middle of the pack in the NFL by allowing 357.7 yards per game and 26.3 points, will have a tough task against the Rams’ elite passing attack and emerging rushing game.
In their lone road contest, the Giants held the Bears to 304 total yards and 17 points, but that was against a subpar offense (368.0 yards per game). The Rams are third in the NFL at 449.7 per game.
Quarterback Daniel Jones was 17 of 32 for 179 yards Sunday in a 36-9 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, the third lowest yardage total among his 15 career starts. Jones has thrown at least one interception in all three games this season.
Without Saquon Barkley, the Giants are last in the NFL with 56.7 yards rushing per game and Jones leads the team with 92 rushing yards. The only other quarterback to head his team on the ground is the Ravens’ Lamar Jackson (182 yards).
Los Angeles Rams
After a slow start, the Rams jammed a full game of offense into the final 1 1/2 quarters at Buffalo on Sunday and took the lead after trailing by 25 points, only to lose late. The Rams are seventh in the NFL with 29.7 points per game.
Quarterback Jared Goff is eighth in the NFL with 863 passing yards and leads the league in yards per attempt at 9.6. Cooper Kupp has 18 catches for 228 yards, while Robert Woods has 13 catches for 193 yards.
Running back Darrell Henderson had 114 rushing yards Sunday and the Rams have 170.3 yards per game, tied for third in the league. They passed 32 times (not counting two sacks) against the Bills and ran 32 times.
Sunday will be the Rams’ second game at their new $5 billion SoFi Stadium. They defeated the Cowboys 20-17 there in Week 1.
Giants at Rams Betting Pick for Week 4
Aside from a poor first half at Buffalo last week, against a quality Bills team, the Rams have been able to deliver on the game plan and there is no reason to think that won’t continue against the Giants.
The Giants’ defense isn’t terrible but will have far too much to worry about Sunday. And with an offense that is having trouble running the ball, New York figures to be chasing the game early.
Giants at Rams Betting Pick:
Rams 34, Giants 9
Giants at Rams Best Bet for Week 4
The Giants need to work on their running game and might lean into it even if they fall behind. The Rams are excited about their emerging rushing attack and could show it off like a new toy. If the Rams jump out to an early lead, a lot of handoffs figure to be coming.
Giants at Rams Best Bet: UNDER 47.5 points (-110)
