Giants at Bengals Betting Preview: Giants (-5.5/-110), Bengals (+5.5/-110)

New York Giants

Turnovers have plagued Daniel Jones during his relatively short career thus far in the NFL, however the quarterback has been a bit more cautious with the ball in his last two games for the Giants (3-7). Jones did not commit a turnover in New York’s 23-20 win over Washington on Nov. 8 and or its 27-17 win versus Philadelphia one week later, with those results moving the club a half-game behind the first-place Eagles in the moribund NFC East.

The Giants endured fireworks during their bye week with head coach Joe Judge and offensive line coach Marc Colombo reportedly getting into a heated discussion — and the result was Dave DeGuglielmo being hired in Colombo’s place. DeGuglielmo said this week that he does not intend to make changes to the Giants’ offensive line, and perhaps for good reason considering it has helped the team eclipse 150 yards rushing in three of the past four games.

Wayne Gallman, who has found the end zone in four consecutive contests, recorded his first career performance with two rushing touchdowns in the win over Philadelphia. Sterling Shepard had a team-high six receptions in that game, marking the fifth time in six games this season he has reached that total.

Cincinnati Bengals

The Bengals (2-7-1) reportedly will turn to practice squad call-up Brandon Allen on Sunday after losing promising rookie quarterback Joe Burrow to a season-ending knee injury in last week’s 20-9 loss to the Washington Football Team. Although Ryan Finley replaced Burrow last week, Allen will be the one making his fourth career NFL start on Sunday after recording his previous three with Denver in 2019.

Tyler Boyd has reeled in 32 of his team-leading 69 catches over the last four weeks, including nine to accumulate 85 yards against Washington last Sunday. Fellow wideout Tee Higgins has two of his club-best four receiving touchdowns in that span, with the latter total tied for second among NFL rookies.

Giovani Bernard has found the end zone on four occasions (two rushing, two receiving) since fellow running back Joe Mixon sustained a foot injury. Bernard, however, also has proven to be a suitable outlet out of the backfield by reeling in 19 receptions in his last five games.

Giants at Bengals Betting Pick for Week 12

Although the teams have combined for just five wins in 20 games this season, New York could find itself in first place in the NFC East with a victory on Sunday. Inspiration shouldn’t be lacking for the Giants, although Sunday’s opponent could be going through the motions after seeing its franchise quarterback carted off the field last week.

New York should carve out the victory provided Jones plays it close to the vest and keeps the ball in the hands of his team.

Giants at Bengals Betting Pick: Giants 21, Bengals 10

Giants at Bengals Best Bet for Week 12

The under appears to be a safe bet considering the Giants are averaging an NFL third-worst 19.5 points and fourth-worst 196.1 passing yards. New York, however, is permitting just 20.6 points per game over its last five contests.

Giants at Bengals Best Bet: UNDER 42.5 total points (-110)
