The Oakland Raiders and Los Angeles Rams will take part in joint practices for two straight days before facing off in their first preseason game. The first preseason game will be a great sneak-peak into the new look Raiders who traded for arguably the best wide receiver in the NFL in Antonio Brown. But new General Manager Mike Mayock didn’t stop there. He knew he had to keep veteran quarterback Derek Carr upright, so he bolstered his left tackle position by going big, literally; signing the 6’8 380-pound Trent Brown in free agency.
While the Raiders are working with a newly revamped roster, all eyes will be on the visiting Rams who hope they can get more of what they saw last year. The reigning NFC Champions, and head coach Sean McVay, had a stellar season where everything went right up until Super Bowl LIII. McVay admitted afterwards that he could have done a better job, specifically as it related to the game plan. However, he was not the only one to bring his C- material. After a spectacular regular season from Jared Goff, the then third year QB looked overwhelmed throughout the contest, including a backbreaking interception that all but sealed the game for the Patriots.
