Colts at Lions Betting Preview: Colts (-2.5/-120), Lions (+2.5/+100)
Indianapolis Colts
The Colts should be well rested as they come off a bye in Week 7. In its last game, Indianapolis won 31-27 against the Cincinnati Bengals after scoring 10 unanswered points in the fourth quarter. Jack Doyle hauled in a 14-yard touchdown pass to put the Colts on top before Rodrigo Blankenship added a 40-yard field goal.
Indianapolis (4-2) is one game behind the Tennessee Titans for the top spot in the AFC South division. The Colts are 3-0 at home but 1-2 on the road as they head north to Detroit.
The Colts have a strong defense, but Philip Rivers will need to settle the offense against Detroit. The 38-year-old quarterback has posted a 93.0 passer rating in his first season in Indianapolis while throwing for 1,598 yards, seven touchdowns and six interceptions.
Detroit Lions
Detroit (3-3) is coming off back-to-back wins against the Jacksonville Jaguars and Atlanta Falcons. The Lions’ most recent win was especially dramatic as Matthew Stafford connected with T.J. Hockenson for an 11-yard touchdown with two seconds remaining to give Detroit the win.
It was the type of exhilarating victory that could give Detroit momentum for weeks ahead, or it could drain the Lions and set them up for a letdown game against the Colts.
Stafford is a proven veteran who is not likely to be rattled by Indianapolis’ defense, but he will have to make quick decisions in the pocket as the Colts look to pressure him.
Colts at Lions Betting Pick for Week 8
Indianapolis has more talent on paper than Detroit, and it is coming off a week to rest and prepare as it looks to strengthen its case for a playoff spot in 2020.
Rivers and Stafford both are smart, capable quarterbacks with solid supporting casts, but at the end of the day Stafford and the Lions are bound to face a tougher defense in Week 8.
Look for the Colts to emerge in a close game on the road as Detroit struggles to find the end zone.

Colts at Lions Best Bet for Week 8
Detroit has come in at 50 overall points or fewer in each of the past two games, while Indianapolis has tallied 50 or fewer total points in four of its first six contests.
Look for the trend to continue as both teams’ defenses target an older, less mobile quarterback in Stafford and Rivers.
Colts at Lions Best Bet: UNDER 50.5 points (-110)
