Browns at Steelers Betting Preview: Browns (+3/-105), Steelers (-3/-115)
Cleveland Browns
On a four-game winning streak and with an offense that is as efficient as anybody in the league, the Browns still have their concerns as they get set to meet their division rival. Quarterback Baker Mayfield was limited at practice Wednesday with a chest injury that came after taking a big hit Sunday against the Colts, but he is confident he will play at Pittsburgh.
At 4-1 the Browns have not started this well in over a quarter century, but now go to Pittsburgh where they have not won since 2003.
Defensive end Myles Garrett has been a force since returning from his 2019 suspension and now comes back to the site of his helmet swing at Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph. Garrett has six sacks, second only to the Rams’ Aaron Donald, who has 7.5.
Pittsburgh Steelers
Ben Roethlisberger is back and has been as solid as ever in leading the Steelers to a 4-0 record. He is in the top 10 in completion percentage at just under 70 percent, showing he has been efficient when needed. His 10 touchdown passes are tied for seventh and he has just one interception.
With Roethlisberger keeping defenses honest, the Steelers running game has benefited with 138.8 yards per game, which ranks eighth in the league.
The Steelers have yet to run away and hide from anybody this season against opponents that are a combined 3-15-1. Now comes a hot team and the biggest test for the defense so far. After the incident in last year’s game against the Browns, the Steelers figure to be fully inspired.
Browns at Steelers Betting Pick for Week 6
A healthy Mayfield gives the Browns a chance, but anything short of full strength will put Cleveland at a disadvantage. With a Browns player swinging a helmet at a Steelers quarterback last year, the Pittsburgh defense isn’t likely to show a Browns signal caller any mercy.
The season is young, but this is still a key game in the AFC North and if there is anybody that knows how to handle big games it is Roethlisberger.
Browns at Steelers Betting Pick:
Steelers 24, Browns 21
Browns at Steelers Best Bet for Week 6
Expect a good old fashioned AFC North dogfight where the defenses take center stage. Pittsburgh figures to put pressure on Mayfield as much as possible to see if he is willing to take a hit after he was crushed by one last week.
Browns at Steelers Best Bet: UNDER 51 (-110)
