Bills at Jets Betting Preview: Bills (-13.5/-108), Jets (+13.5/-112)

Buffalo Bills

The Bills (4-2) are seeking to rebound from consecutive losses that have dimmed a strong four-game start to the season. Buffalo was routed 42-16 by the host Tennessee Titans on Oct. 13 and then seemed outclassed Monday throughout a 26-17 loss to the visiting Kansas City Chiefs.

Quarterback Josh Allen took responsibility for his sloppy play against the Chiefs and will be seeking to rebound against New York. Allen had a strong outing against the Jets in a season-opening 27-17 victory when he passed for 312 yards and two touchdowns and added 57 rushing yards and a score.

In fact, he threw 12 touchdown passes against one interception during Buffalo’s 4-0 start before logging just four touchdowns and three interceptions over the past two games. He threw for a season-low 122 yards against the Chiefs and could be suffering from a hit to his confidence as well.

The Bills are allowing 28 points per game while receiving strong pass rushing from Mario Addison (three sacks). Allen is nursing a sore shoulder but practiced on Wednesday while receiver John Brown (knee) is expected to sit out for the second time in the past three games.

New York Jets

The Jets (0-6) are the lone winless team in the NFL, and coach Adam Gase’s job security gets thinner with each defeat. New York has been dismal on offense, ranking last in the NFL with 75 points scored while every other team in the league has tallied at least 100.

The defense isn’t much better as the unit has allowed at least 24 in every game and ranks 29th in opponents’ scoring average (30.8 points per game).

Starting quarterback Sam Darnold (shoulder) returned to practice Wednesday after missing two games, and the team hopes he will be the starter against the Bills.

New York scored 10 total points in Joe Flacco’s two starts, displaying that Darnold is badly needed despite throwing more interceptions (four) than touchdown passes (three) so far this season. Frank Gore (250 yards) is the main back after the recent release of Le’Veon Bell, but his paltry average of 3.3 yards per carry needs to improve.

One of the bright points for New York’s defense is cornerback Pierre Desir, who has three interceptions. The Jets are banged up on the offensive with guard Alex Lewis (shoulder) and tackles Mekhi Becton (shoulder) and Chuma Edoga (calf) dealing with injuries.

Bills at Jets Betting Pick for Week 7

Buffalo badly needs a strong performance after being exposed by the Titans and Chiefs. There might not be a better team to get well against than the beleaguered Jets.

New York is mired in a lost season that doesn’t seem likely to improve. That first victory will remain elusive against the angry and highly motivated Bills.

Bills at Jets Betting Pick:

Bills 30, Jets 7

Bills at Jets Best Bet for Week 7

It is hard to say whether Allen will regain his early-season form or do just enough to win against the Jets.

Darnold’s potential return would be a plus as the offense was nearly invisible under Flacco’s direction the past two games.

Bills at Jets Best Bet: UNDER 45 total points (-110)
