Derek Carr and most of the Raiders’ starters sat out the preseason opener against the Los Angeles Rams, which Oakland won 14-3 as L.A. also sat its starters. Carr & Co. will play at least some against Arizona, per head coach Jon Gruden, although likely a quarter or less.

Mike Glennon can put up volume (200 passing yards vs. the Rams) but had two picks in the opener, and Nathan Peterman isn’t likely to rip off a 50-yard run again. The Raiders could give more work to first-round rookie running back Josh Jacobs.

Kyler Murray got one series in the Cardinals’ opener, going 6 of 7 for 44 yards, and is expected to get more work Thursday. However, new head coach Kliff Kingsbury is saving his offensive tricks for the regular season, so the ceiling for Murray and backup Brett Hundley is limited.
