The Chiefs weren’t shy about putting the most valuable asset in the NFL, Patrick Mahomes, on the field in the opener, and he picked up right where he left off during his 2018 MVP campaign (4 of 4, 66 yards). Mahomes figures to get closer to a full quarter in this one before Chad Henne takes over.

Electric rookies Mecole Hardman and Darwin Thompson each scored against Cincinnati, and they could be in for more opportunities in Andy Reid’s catch-and-run-friendly offense.

Ben Roethlisberger sat out Pittsburgh’s opener against the Bucs, leaving Joshua Dobbs and Mason Rudolph to handle the work as they compete for the backup role. Even if Roethlisberger plays Saturday, it won’t be for long. Other Steelers to keep an eye on are James Washington — who has shined after a rough rookie year — and first-rounder Devin Bush, who starred against Tampa Bay.
