Bo Nix, last season’s Freshman of the Year in the SEC, opened his sophomore campaign with three touchdown passes in the Tigers’ 29-13 win over Kentucky last week. Two went to Seth Williams, who had six receptions for 112 yards. Eli Stove (four catches, 55 yards) had the other scoring reception.
Nix has a school-record streak of 218 pass attempts without an interception working as he prepares for a Georgia defense that had three picks in the opener at Arkansas. Auburn’s offense benefited from three turnovers forced by its defense
It’s not often a team would be looking at quarterback issues coming out of a 37-10 victory, but that is the situation with the Bulldogs. Freshman D’Wan Mathis started at Arkansas last week but was ineffective and yanked in the second quarter. After Georgia went into the halftime break trailing 7-5, junior Stetson Bennett provided the spark in a big second half.
Now USC transfer JT Daniels, who had yet to be cleared medically last week because of a knee injury suffered last season, is ready to go as the Bulldogs host the Tigers in their home opener. Coach Kirby Smart also said that Carson Beck also is in the picture. “We’ll be looking at everybody across the board,” Smart said.

Georgia leads the oldest rivalry in the Deep South 60-56-8, but surprisingly Auburn holds an 18-15 in the games played in Athens. The Bulldogs have had the upper hand as of late with 15 wins in the last 19 meetings. It will be the first time since 1936 that the two teams have not met each other in November, a result of the schedule re-shuffling brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Auburn Tigers at Georgia Bulldogs Best Bet
Last year’s meeting in Auburn was a thriller with the Bulldogs holding on to a 21-14 victory after sacking Nix on fourth down on the Tigers’ last drive. Nix was 30 of 50 passing for 245 yards. The quarterback situation at Georgia is unsettling, but the Bulldogs should be able to keep things under control with their defense.
