The Kentucky Wildcats (22-5, 12-2 SEC) continued their recent great play with a pair of wins over LSU and Florida.
The victories gave Kentucky a two-game lead atop the SEC standings.
Yet again, John Calipari’s Kentucky squad was led by sophomore Immanuel Quickley. Quickley had 21 points in the 79-76 win over LSU and 26 points in the 65-59 win over Florida.
This week, Kentucky will need to avoid the trap of looking ahead to their Saturday home clash with Auburn when it travels for a quick road trip in College Station on Tuesday.

Should the Wildcats take care of business, Kentucky will have a chance to essentially clinch the SEC with a home win over Auburn.
Oddsmakers consider Kentucky the short favorite to win the SEC Tournament (SEC Odds +180) when that begins in a few weeks, while giving them +2000 odds to win the National Championship.
February 25: at Texas A&M (14-12, 8-6 SEC); February 29: vs. Auburn (23-4, 10-4 SEC)
Auburn Tigers Odds to Nab the SEC Crown
The Auburn Tigers (23-4, 10-4) once again played with fire in a game with Tennessee, only this time they were able to erase that deficit and pull away with a 73-66 victory.
The win halted a brief two-game losing streak for Bruce Pearl’s Tigers, and set the stage for Auburn to meet Kentucky with a chance to pull within a game of first-place and complete the season sweep of their conference foes.
First Pearl’s Tigers will need to get past Ole Miss on Tuesday, and assuming their late game heroics come through, the rematch with Kentucky on Saturday afternoon becomes must see television.
Oddsmakers still like Auburn as the second-best favorite to win the SEC Tournament, as they are listed at +250 to pull off the feat.
Should you fancy Bruce Pearl’s chances at a deep run in March, Auburn is like Kentucky and is currently priced at 20-to-1 to win it all.
The LSU Tigers SEC Odds After a Big W Against South Carolina
LSU (19-8, 10-4 SEC) got a much-needed victory on Saturday when it defeated South Carolina 86-80.
The win stopped a two-game losing streak for the Tigers, and kept LSU’s hopes at a regular season title faintly alive.
LSU has gone just 2-4 since starting the conference season 8-0, with three of those losses coming on the road.
This week LSU gets to put their road woes to the test with a trip to Gainesville to face the Gators on Wednesday, followed by a home game against Texas A&M.
Oddsmakers currently have the Tigers listed at +600 to win the SEC Tournament in March.
February 26: at Florida (17-10, 9-5 SEC); February 29: vs. Texas A&M (14-12, 8-6 SEC)
The Florida Gators Chances to Show Up for the SEC Tournament
The Gators (17-10, 9-5 SEC) split a pair of games last week, defeating Arkansas 73-59 at home and falling to Kentucky 65-59 in a road loss on Saturday.
The loss to Kentucky essentially ended the Gators hope at a regular season SEC championship, however if you’re basing it on “style” points, their performance against the Wildcats solidified their standing in the current field of 68 teams projected to be in the NCAA Tournament.
This week the Gators can score another resume building win when they play host to LSU, before they wrap up the weekend in Knoxville against Tennessee.
Oddsmakers are believers in the boys from Gainesville, as their SEC Odds are currently priced at +300 in a few weeks.
Handicapping the Rest of the SEC
South Carolina, Mississippi State and Arkansas have all played themselves off the bubble in recent weeks, and none appear to be trending up.
If there is another team to join the four above, it will likely be a dark horse that has to play themselves into the tournament by stealing a bid and winning the conference tournament.
Here is the rest of the field and their odds to win the 2020 SEC Tournament:
Mississippi State +3000
South Carolina +3000
Texas A&M +10000
Ole Miss +15000
