Boston Celtics Odds
After struggling to find an offensive rhythm in Saturday’s Game 4 loss, the Boston Celtics will try to regroup Monday as they meet the Toronto Raptors in Game 5 of an Eastern Conference semifinal near Orlando.
The Celtics opened the postseason with six successive victories but now have lost two straight, the latest a 100-93 defeat on Saturday. While Jayson Tatum (24 points, 10 rebounds) and Kemba Walker (15 points, eight assists) kept the Celtics afloat in Game 4, Boston couldn’t extend its scoring depth.
Jaylen Brown missed his first nine 3-point attempts before finishing 2-for-11, while Tatum, Walker and Marcus Smart each sputtered to 1-for-6 shooting from deep as the Celtics were 7 of 35 overall. Boston held Toronto to 39.5 percent shooting while winning the battle under the boards 45-41.
Toronto Raptors Odds
Benefiting from improved defense and double-doubles from Pascal Siakam and Kyle Lowry, the reigning NBA champion Toronto Raptors evened their Eastern Conference semifinal series against the Boston Celtics at 2-2 on Saturday.
The Raptors will try to take control Monday behind more of the same after limiting Boston to 44 percent shooting in Game 4, including 20 percent from behind the arc. Lowry and backcourt mate Fred VanVleet teamed for 39 points Saturday and are averaging a combined 39.5 points in the series.
OG Anunoby is averaging 13 points in his past five games on 52.5 percent shooting. Serge Ibaka has hit multiple 3-pointers in six of eight playoff games.
Celtics vs. Raptors Betting Pick for Game 5
Talk about a catalyst. Anunoby’s buzzer-beating 3-pointer that saved the Raptors from a 3-0 series deficit seemed to spur Toronto on Saturday, as well.
If Boston continues to strain for consistent scoring beyond Tatum and Walker, the Celtics could suddenly find themselves on the brink of elimination.
