Boston Celtics Odds
The Boston Celtics will look to grab a 2-0 lead in their best-of-seven Eastern Conference second-round playoff series against the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday as they try to maintain a season-long stranglehold against the defending NBA champions.
The Celtics won Sunday’s series opener 112-94 to improve to 4-1 against the Raptors this season. Jayson Tatum and Marcus Smart both had 21 points to pace six Celtics in double figures.
Kemba Walker had 18 points and a playoff career-high 10 assists to post the first postseason double-double of his career, while Daniel Theis (13 points, 15 rebounds) also notched his first career playoff double-double.
Toronto Raptors Odds
After struggling to 36.9 percent shooting while losing the opener of their Eastern Conference second-round playoff series against the Boston Celtics on Sunday, the Toronto Raptors will aim to bounce back in Tuesday’s Game 2.
The Raptors failed to eclipse 100 points for the first time in the restart bubble Sunday, but stayed afloat behind Fred VanVleet, who registered 11 points, eight assists and a franchise postseason-record six steals.
Kyle Lowry paced Toronto with 17 points and fell two assists short of his third double-double of the postseason. Serge Ibaka had 15 points in 26 minutes and has finished in double figures in four of Toronto’s five playoff games.
Field Level Media Prediction
The Raptors have lost 14 of their past 18 playoff series openers but also have shown resilience in that span. Look for an improved effort to boost Toronto to victory.
FLM Prediction: Raptors (-118), 111, Celtics 101
Field Level Media’s Best Bet
The Celtics raced to a 39-23 lead after one quarter Sunday, but with Lowry now re-acclimated to game speed after contending with a left ankle sprain between series, look for the Raptors to remain more competitive from the jump on both sides of the ball.
FLM Best Bet: OVER 53.5 1st quarter total points (-104)
