Los Angeles Lakers Odds
The Lakers aim to take a commanding 3-1 lead in the Western Conference semifinals when they look to stifle the Rockets once again.
Star forward LeBron James became the all-time leader in playoff victories (162) with Los Angeles’ 112-102 win in Game 3 and he contributed 36 points to raise his series average to 28 per game.
The Lakers also got their usual stellar performance from power forward Anthony Davis (26 points, 15 rebounds, six assists) and received a surprise effort from veteran point guard Rajon Rondo, who had 21 points and nine assists in 30 minutes. It was just Rondo’s third game since returning from thumb and back injuries. He is averaging 13 points and 7.3 assists in the series.
Houston Rockets Odds
Star guard James Harden is doing all he can to keep the Rockets in the Western Conference semifinals. Harden is averaging 32 points in the series after recording 33 points, nine rebounds and nine assists in Tuesday’s 112-102 setback.
That loss leaves the Rockets trailing 2-1 in the series as they enter Thursday’s pivotal Game 4. Backcourt mate Russell Westbrook emerged to score 30 points on 13-of-24 shooting after averaging 17 over the first two games when he hit just 14 of 39 shots.
Forward Robert Covington passed a concussion test Wednesday and he is listed as questionable for Game 4. Covington was hit in the face by an inadvertent elbow from Davis on Tuesday and left the contest. Covington is averaging 11 points in the series and has made 8 of 15 3-point attempts. Forward Danuel House Jr. (personal reasons) will miss his second straight game.
