The Miami Heat took two of three games against the top-seeded Milwaukee Bucks during the regular season and look to keep the success going when the teams meet in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semifinals on Monday near Orlando.
Miami recorded wins of 105-89 and 131-126 (in overtime) in two meetings before the season was interrupted by the coronavirus pandemic and later suffered a 130-116 loss after the restart. The fifth-seeded Heat were sharp in the first round of the playoffs while sweeping the Indiana Pacers, winning the four games by an average of 10.5 points.
Point guard Goran Dragic was elevated to the starting lineup before the series and averaged 22.8 points against the Pacers while star swingman Jimmy Butler averaged 19.8 points.
Milwaukee Bucks Odds
The Milwaukee Bucks continue their pursuit of an NBA Finals appearance when they open the Eastern Conference semifinals against the fifth-seeded Miami Heat on Monday.
Top-seeded Milwaukee recorded an NBA-best 56-17 record during the regular season before dispatching the Orlando Magic in five games in the first round. Milwaukee closed out the series after the break with a 118-104 triumph on Saturday.
Star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo recorded a double-double in all five games and averaged 30.6 points, 16.0 rebounds and 6.0 assists in the series. Forward Khris Middleton averaged 15.0 points in the series but shot just 36.1 percent from the field.
