New Orleans Pelicans Odds
Zion Williamson will surely receive more playing time on Saturday when the New Orleans Pelicans face the Los Angeles Clippers in their second game since the season restarted near Orlando. The rookie star returned to the campus environment on Tuesday but was limited to 15 minutes Thursday in the Pelicans’ 106-104 loss to the Utah Jazz after being cleared to participate shortly before game time.
Williamson was effective with 13 points on 6-of-8 shooting. All-Star forward Brandon Ingram scored a team-high 23 points but missed a 3-point attempt at the buzzer that would have won the game. New Orleans led by 16 points in the second quarter before being outplayed in the second half by Utah.
Los Angeles Clippers Odds
The Los Angeles Clippers look to bounce back from a costly loss when they oppose the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday at the “bubble” environment near Orlando. The Clippers fell 103-101 to the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday and now trail their city rivals by 6 1/2 games with seven to play in the battle for the top seed in the Western Conference.
Los Angeles will again be short-handed against the Pelicans with guard Lou Williams (quarantine) and forward Montrezl Harrell (family matter) both unavailable. Williams’ absence Thursday was magnified by poor shooting efforts from guards Reggie Jackson (3-for-10) and Landry Shamet (1-for-8). Forward Paul George (30 points) and Kawhi Leonard (28) had strong offensive showings against the Lakers.
