Miami Heat odds
The fifth-seeded Miami Heat are aiming to start a long postseason run as they open play Tuesday against the fourth-seeded Indiana Pacers in an Eastern Conference first-round series at the “bubble” near Orlando.
Star swingman Jimmy Butler figures to find extra motivation at the sight of Indiana’s T.J. Warren after the two had a much-publicized incident during and after a Miami win in January. Butler says there will be no rekindling of the dispute and that his focus is on helping the Heat win the series.
Rookie guard Kendrick Nunn confirmed that he will come off the bench for the first time this season after making just 15 of 57 shots over the past four games. The Heat went 3-5 since the resumption of play, including a split of two games against the Pacers.
Indiana Pacers odds
Hot-shooting forward T.J. Warren strives to help the Indiana Pacers start the postseason on a good note when they face the Miami Heat in the opener of the Eastern Conference first-round series at the “bubble” near Orlando.
Warren averaged 31 points and shot 57.8 percent from the field over six games since the resumption of play, topped 30 four times and scored a career-high 53 against the Philadelphia 76ers on Aug. 1. Warren (foot) is listed as questionable but doesn’t figure to miss a contest involving nemesis Jimmy Butler of the Heat.
Indiana is 6-2 since the resumption of the play but had troubles while going 1-3 against the Heat this season. Two of the setbacks were by 22 and 14 points. Center Myles Turner (neck, wrist) is at less than full strength.
