The Houston Rockets would like to see Russell Westbrook find his shooting touch as they enter Game 3 of the Western Conference semifinal series against the top-seeded Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday near Orlando.
Westbrook had just 10 points on 4-of-15 shooting during Sunday’s 117-109 setback and is averaging 17 points on 14-of-39 (35.9 percent) shooting over the first two games. Westbrook is just 2 of 12 from 3-point range.
The slump might prompt the fourth-seeded Rockets to rely even more heavily on star James Harden, who is averaging 31.5 points while making 18 of 32 shots (56.3 percent). Houston was 22 of 53 from 3-point range in Game 2 with Eric Gordon sinking six and Harden, Robert Covington and P.J. Tucker all knocking down four.
