Los Angeles Clippers head coach Doc Rivers vowed that defense would make the difference in Game 3 on Monday and that came to fruition. The Clippers held the Nuggets to 31.8 percent from the field in the fourth quarter and had a 29-19 advantage in the period that led to a 113-107 victory.
The defining defensive moment came when Kawhi Leonard blocked a Jamal Murray dunk attempt when the tip of his left middle finger with 1:47 remaining. Paul George carried the offense with 32 points on 12-of-18 shooting while Leonard had 23.
The Clippers are still looking for key reserves Lou Williams (11.0 points per game in the series) and Montrezl Harrell (12.0) to get on track.
