Los Angeles Clippers Preview
The Los Angeles Clippers aim to defeat the Dallas Mavericks for the third time this season and fourth straight time overall when the teams meet Thursday.
The Clippers, 1-2 since the restart of the season, sustained a disappointing 117-115 loss to the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday when they made just eight 3-pointers, one game after canning a franchise-best 25 in a win over the New Orleans Pelicans.
Sixth man Lou Williams returned from quarantine against the Suns and had seven points, six rebounds and six assists. Point guard Patrick Beverley (left calf strain) will sit out Thursday after being hurt against the Suns, forward Montrezl Harrell will miss his fourth consecutive game after the death of his grandmother.
Dallas Mavericks Preview
Luka Doncic looks to follow up a monster performance when the Mavericks oppose the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday. Doncic recorded 34 points, a career-best 20 rebounds and 12 assists in Dallas’ 114-110 overtime win over the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday.
He became the youngest player (21 years, 158 days) in NBA history to have at least 30 points, 20 boards and 10 assists in a game. Doncic’s exploits helped Dallas improve to 1-2 since the season restart.
Big man Kristaps Porzingis had 22 points against the Kings, dropping his average to 30.3 in the NBA’s bubble. Backcourt sharpshooter Seth Curry (leg) sat out versus Sacramento and is doubtful for facing against Los Angeles.
