Portland Trail Blazers Preview
The Portland Trail Blazers continue fighting for their playoff lives as they take on the Boston Celtics on Sunday. The Blazers pulled off a key overtime victory in their season restart, besting the Memphis Grizzlies 140-135 on Friday behind 33 points from CJ McCollum and 29 from Damian Lillard.
Portland now trails Memphis by 2 1/2 games for the eighth and final spot in the Western Conference playoff race. Center Jusuf Nurkic made his season debut in the win over the Grizzlies, scoring 18 points with nine rebounds in 33 minutes. Nurkic had been sidelined by a gruesome leg injury sustained in March 2019.
Boston Celtics Preview
The Boston Celtics get another chance to shake off the rust when they face the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday. In their first game of the season restart, the Celtics shot 40.7 percent (37 of 91) as a team in a 119-112 loss to the Eastern Conference-leading Milwaukee Bucks.
All-Star Jayson Tatum in particular struggled, shooting 2-of-18 with five points. Boston eyes a top-four spot in the East, with the seeding games providing a chance for star guard Kemba Walker (16 points in 19 minutes Friday) to ramp back up from a sore knee.
