Tyler Glasnow (1-1, 5.14 ERA) will start the opener and is coming of career-high 13-strikeout game Tuesday against the Baltimore Orioles.
Glasnow allowed two runs on five hits in seven innings while getting a career-high 24 swings and misses. Glasnow is 0-2 with a 4.91 ERA in four career starts against the Yankees and is starting against New York for the third time this season.

Gerrit Cole is coming off his first loss since May 22, 2019 when he starts for the New York Yankees in the opener of a three-game series with the AL East-leading Tampa Bay Rays.
Cole (4-1, 3.51 ERA) has allowed 10 homers in his first seven starts as a Yankee and allowed three in five innings during Wednesday’s loss at Atlanta that snapped his 20-game winning streak. Cole is 0-2 with a 3.65 ERA in six career starts against the Rays and will face Tampa Bay for the third time this season. Cole will take the mound as the Yankees go for their fourth straight win.
They took three of five with the crosstown New York Mets after losing seven straight. The Yankees dropped a doubleheader on Friday and then won the next three in their last at-bat.
