Philadelphia Phillies
The Philadelphia Phillies are 10-2 in their last 12 games but coming of one of their worst showings in that run. Ace Aaron Nola (4-2, 2.45 ERA) takes the mound Sunday against the New York Mets.
Nola is coming off back-to-back dominant starts against the Washington Nationals, pitching eight scoreless innings in his most recent outing Tuesday when his 34 curveballs produced 12 swings and misses.
Nola has fared well against the Mets in his career, going 8-1 with a 2.87 ERA in 14 starts. Nola dominated the Mets on Aug. 15 when he scattered three hits and struck out eight in seven innings of a 6-2 victory.
New York Mets
The New York Mets are coming off a 5-1 win Saturday against the Philadelphia Phillies that can be described as one of their best games of the year.
The Mets will send ace Jacob deGrom to the mound Sunday after he made four straight starts against the Miami Marlins. The two-time Cy Young Award winner has 36 of his 58 strikeouts over those four starts, though he took the loss Monday against Miami when he allowed four runs (one earned) in six innings.
The right-hander is 7-1 with a 2.23 ERA in 15 career starts against Philadelphia.
Phillies at Mets Betting Pick for September 6, 2020
Despite their poor showing Saturday, the Phillies are still rolling. Look for them to do little against deGrom but then eke out a few runs against New York’s suspect bullpen while Nola produces another strong start.

There may not be plenty of runs, but there should be plenty of strikeouts. Look for Nola and deGrom to combine for more than 15 strikeouts.
