He took a no-decision in his lone career start against the Cubs, allowing three runs in six innings two years ago. Center fielder JaCoby Jones left Detroit’s 7-1 victory on Tuesday due to right calf tightness, but the Tigers did not make an immediate announcement about his status.
Jonathan Schoop belted a grand slam for his team-leading seventh home run. Jeimer Candelario went 2-for-4 and is batting .357 (10-for-28) in his past seven games.
