Chicago Cubs Odds
The visiting Chicago Cubs will try to salvage a split of their four-game series against the Cincinnati Reds on Sunday afternoon as they meet in the series finale.
The Cubs snapped a three-game skid with a win in the opener of Saturday’s doubleheader before suffering a walk-off loss in the nightcap as the Reds rallied against Cubs closer Craig Kimbrel. Right-hander Tyler Chatwood is set to start for the Cubs in his second appearance since returning from the injured list with a mild back strain. He allowed two runs in 1 1/3 innings on Tuesday at Detroit while walking five and striking out two.
Chatwood is 1-4 with a 4.71 ERA in 10 career appearances against the Reds, including six starts. He compiled a 1.29 ERA in four relief outings against Cincinnati last season. Ian Happ is batting .300 with a home run and two RBIs in the series.
Cincinnati Reds Odds
Right-hander Luis Castillo will seek his first win of the season as the Cincinnati Reds close a four-game series against the visiting Chicago Cubs on Sunday afternoon, with Cincinnati seeking its fifth victory in six games.
Castillo (0-4, 3.62 ERA) is coming off a quality start against the Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday, when he took the loss despite allowing three runs (only one earned) in six innings while striking out nine. Castillo is 4-2 with a 3.56 ERA in 10 career starts against Chicago.
Curt Casali has smacked three home runs in his past eight games, while Jesse Winker has connected on four home runs in his past five games. The Reds have scored six runs in each of their last four wins.
