Pittsburgh Pirates Odds
The Pittsburgh Pirates will go for their fourth straight victory Tuesday as they open a two-game interleague series against the host Chicago White Sox.
Right fielder Gregory Polanco keyed the Pirates’ three-game weekend sweep of the Milwaukee Brewers, going 5-for-10 with two home runs, five RBIs and two stolen bases. Left-hander Steven Brault is set to make his first career start and second appearance against the White Sox. Brault (0-0, 3.00 ERA) pitched five scoreless innings of two-hit ball against Cleveland in his most recent start Wednesday.
First baseman Colin Moran (concussion evaluation) and shortstop Kevin Newman (abdominal discomfort) both left Sunday’s game. The Pirates are seeking their first four-game winning streak since Sept. 24-27, 2019.
Chicago White Sox Odds
The Chicago White Sox will look to get back on the winning track Tuesday as they welcome the Pittsburgh Pirates to begin a two-game interleague series.
The White Sox have belted 28 home runs in their past eight games, but their bats were otherwise silent Sunday in a 2-1 loss to the Chicago Cubs that snapped a season-high, seven-game winning streak. First baseman Jose Abreu slugged four of his team-leading 11 home runs in the weekend series against the Cubs. Right-hander Lucas Giolito (2-2, 3.89 ERA) gets the start for the White Sox.
Giolito defeated the Detroit Tigers on Thursday in his most recent start, scattering three hits and fanning 13 in seven scoreless innings. He took a no-decision in his lone career start against Pittsburgh, allowing four runs in four innings in May 2018.
