Colorado Rockies Odds
The Colorado Rockies got a dose of bad news Monday when right fielder Charlie Blackmon was scratched from the Monday road game against the Arizona Diamondbacks due to left quadriceps tightness.
The Rockies did earn a 3-2 victory to end a seven-game losing streak, but they have still lost 10 of their past 12. Blackmon is the National League batting leader with a .405 average. Catcher Tony Wolters left the Monday game in the ninth inning after he was hit on the left knee by a foul ball.
Right-hander German Marquez (2-4, 4.38 ERA) is scheduled to take the mound after a miserable outing against the Houston Astros on Thursday when he gave up 10 runs on 10 hits in five innings.
Arizona Diamondbacks Odds
The Arizona Diamondbacks will head into their Tuesday home game against the Colorado Rockies riding a six-game losing streak. The skid has immediately followed a six-game winning streak that started with a victory over the Rockies on Aug. 12.
In a sign of how it is going for the D-backs these days, Kole Calhoun was caught headbutting a throw during a rundown Monday and was called out for interference. Manager Torey Lovullo was ejected for arguing the interference ruling. Calhoun did hit a home run, his eighth, while Christian Walker also went deep, his second.
Left-hander Alex Young (1-1, 4.50 ERA) will get the start Tuesday. He has faced Colorado twice as a reliever this year, allowing three runs in 2 2/3 innings.
