Wolverhampton vs Liverpool FC

Liverpool Odds Preview v Wolves

Liverpool earned their 13th league win in a row with a 2-0 home win over rivals Manchester United on Sunday. United are the only team to take points off Liverpool this season and their encouraging start to the game raised questions if they were able to do it again.

However, a powerful header from Virgil Van Dijk opened the scoring for Liverpool as the defender netted his fourth goal of the season. Andreas Pereira went close for United as he failed to connect with Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s cross before half time.

Liverpool had two goals disallowed and were unlucky to double their lead on several occasions after Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane both saw chances go begging.

With United adding the pressure in stoppage time to find an equalizer, Liverpool hit them on the counter as Alisson’s goal kick found Salah who latched on to it and finished past David De Gea to seal the three points for the home side.

Liverpool is now 16 points ahead of Manchester City with a game in hand and their lead to many is now unassailable.

Liverpool travels to Wolves on Thursday in what will be a tricky test as they play a side who sit sixth in the table, level on points with Manchester United in fifth.

Liverpool Odds to Stay Unbeaten v Wolves

After three games without a win, Wolves got back on the win column with a 3-2 win over Southampton.

Despite going down 2-0 in the first half, they fought back through a brace from Raul Jimenez and an early second-half strike by Pedro Neto.

Wolves now face a tough schedule of fixtures that could make or break their race for European football. They face Liverpool, Manchester United, Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur in four of the next five fixtures.

Liverpool’s last six fixtures against Wolves in the league is a perfect record for the Reds. They’ve won all six of those fixtures including a 1-0 win in December.

Sportsbooks odds on a 14th consecutive win for Liverpool opens at -175, making them favorites. Odds on a home win for Wolves open at +500, according to sportsbooks. Odds on a tie between the two teams open at +280.

Is Jurgen Klopp One of the Best Managers in EPL History?

It’s a question that must be asked now and will be answered in May.

But, Jurgen Klopp has taken the Premier League by storm. The 2019/20 season is his fifth as Liverpool manager and after building a new team in his image and rejuvenating the careers of players that preceded him (Jordan Henderson and James Milner), Klopp is the best manager in the English Premier League.

While others may pick Pep Guardiola for his record-breaking work with Manchester City, the level of funds Pep has been offered compared to Klopp is incomparable.

Klopp has achieved more with less essentially and if he continues his work with Liverpool this season, he could go down as one of the greatest managers in league history.
