Los Angeles Wildcats at Houston Roughnecks Odds
Los Angeles Wildcats Preview
Journeyman NFL quarterback Josh Johnson will lead the Los Angeles Wildcats into their first-ever game, supported by a well-known coaching staff. Helping Johnson on offense will be former NFL‘ers Elijah Hood and DuJuan Harris at running back and Nelson Spruce at receiver. The defense will lean on linebackers Will Smith and Tre‘ Williams, along with former Baylor defensive end Shawn Oakman. Longtime Chargers kicker Nick Novak brings a reliable leg for field goals.
Houston Roughnecks Preview
The Houston Roughnecks roll into their inaugural game behind longtime NFL and college coach June Jones, who named P.J. Walker the starting quarterback after a training camp competition with Connor Cook. Walker, who spent time on the Indianapolis Colts‘ roster and practice squad in recent years, set records in college at Temple, where he threw for 10,668 yards and 74 touchdowns.
Speedster Sammie Coates will be one of his top targets, with running backs Andre Williams and De‘Angelo Henderson helping shoulder the load. The defense will rely on defensive linemen Gabe Wright and Kony Ealy, a former NFL second-round pick who had three sacks in Super Bowl 50 for the Carolina Panthers.
