Watford vs Liverpool

 Liverpool Odds Against Watford

Liverpool has the chance to make history once again as they travel to Vicarage Road to face Watford where a win for the league leaders could see them break Manchester City’s Premier League record of 18 wins in a row.

The league leaders suffered their biggest scare of the season in their thrilling 3-2 win against West Ham United. Despite going ahead through a Gini Wijnaldum header, the relegation candidates hit back just five minutes later and doubled their lead in the second half to go 2-1 up on the European champions in the second half.

Liverpool was facing their first defeat of the season and their first league loss at Anfield since April of 2017 before a Lukasz Fabianski howler meant Mohamed Salah scored his 15th goal of the season to equalize for Liverpool.

Liverpool completed the comeback in the 80th minute when Sadio Mane struck from close range to secure their record-equalling 18th league win in a row.

Liverpool can now break the record with a win against 19th placed Watford. Despite an upturn of form when Nigel Pearson was appointed manager in December which included four wins in five, Watford is now in real danger after going five games without a win.

They’ve lost to Aston Villa, Everton and Manchester United three of their last four games.

Liverpool Odds to Make History Against Watford

They now face the biggest test of their season with Liverpool visiting on Saturday afternoon and will come up against their very own bogeyman in Mohamed Salah.

The Egyptian forward has scored eight goals against Watford since his arrival in Merseyside in 2017 and with four goals in his last five games, he is very much a man in form.

Watford has been quite pitiful in recent years against Liverpool with only win since their return to the Premier League in 2015. They’ve lost five of their last six games against Liverpool on an aggregate of 19-3. Watford last scored against Liverpool on the opening day of the 2017/18 season; coincidentally Mohamed Salah’s debut for Liverpool, a game in which he scored in.

Sportsbooks odds on a record-breaking Liverpool win open at -275, making them clear favorites. Odds on a shock Watford win open at +700, according to sportsbooks. Odds on a tie in this meeting opens at +375.

Can Mohamed Salah Claim a Third Golden Boot in a Row?

He secured the golden boot in his first season scoring 32 goals and shared the award the next season with teammate Sadio Mane and Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who all netted 22 goals.

In 24 league appearances this season, Salah has 15 goals, two behind league leaders Jamie Vardy and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

With a favorable run of fixtures including the likes of Watford, Bournemouth and Crystal Palace, Salah could remind the Premier League that he one of the elite players of the game.
