Tampa Bay Buccaneers Odds
Quarterback Jameis Winston averted total disaster when a sure fourth interception in Week 1 was dropped at the goal line by the 49ers, but two of his three picks were returned for scores, and the Buccaneers can’t seem to overcome his backbreaking mistakes. While Panthers quarterback Cam Newton has more production against the Bucs than any other team, Winston is looking for better traction in the matchup. It might not come this week with an old friend marching with the home club this week.
Carolina Panthers odds
Carolina Panthers defensive tackle Gerald McCoy will be among the players receiving attention for Thursday night’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. McCoy played the first nine seasons in the NFL for the Buccaneers before joining a divisional rival in the offseason. He had six Pro Bowl seasons with Tampa Bay. He played barely more than half the snaps in Carolina’s opener – because of heat and the quick turnaround between games, that was part of the plan. McCoy, 31, can probably still handle a big workload. Since entering the NFL in 2010, his 54.5 sacks rank fourth in the league. Thursday night’s game figures to be his 125th career start.
