Sheffield United v Manchester City

Manchester City Odds Preview v Sheffield United

Manchester City’s second-half resurrection took a halt this afternoon after they dropped two points at home in a 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace.

City went down 1-0 before half-time through a debut goal from loan signing Cenk Tosun who headed in from Gary Cahill’s assist.

With another loss on City’s record looking likely, Sergio Aguero hit his 250th and 251st Manchester City goals in five quickfire minutes to put City ahead at 87 minutes.

The action wasn’t finished as after Wilfried Zaha’s cross connected with Fernandinho who hit it into his own net in the 90th minute to gift Palace a point.

Today’s draw ended City’s run of three wins in a row and condemned them to a 16-point deficit behind Liverpool. It was another two goals conceded by City who’ve kept just one clean sheet in their last six league games.

City has already conceded as many goals this season (27) as the whole of last season (23) and while Aymeric Laporte has returned to training, City desperately needs him if they are even going to attempt to chase Liverpool.

City travel to Bramall Lane in their next game to face the impressive Sheffield United in the repeat fixture where City defeated United at home in December.

Manchester City Odds Going Up Against a Game Sheffield United

Sheffield United had two of the hardest fixtures possible back to back, earlier this month. Manchester City and Liverpool away, games United both lost 2-0 but have bounced back with a 1-0 home win over West Ham United and a 1-1 draw away to Arsenal.

United was lucky to secure a point against Arsenal, however, after referees missed a blatant penalty on Nicolas Pepe.

Nevertheless, United are seventh, just six points behind Chelsea in fourth place. They’ve conceded the third least amount of goals so far this season with 22, just one more than Leicester City and eight more than league leaders Liverpool.

Manchester City won the only meeting between the two clubs in the last 10 years and sportsbooks are in favor of the champions.

Sportsbooks odds on City getting back to winning ways open at -300, making them favorites. Odds on Sheffield United avenging their previous loss to City opens at +800, according to sportsbooks. Odds on a draw between the two teams open at +400.

Is this Sergio Aguero’s Last Season with Man City?

Despite being 31 years of age, Sergio Aguero’s form seems to be getting even better. Aguero suffered an injury earlier this season but that hasn’t stopped him from banging in the goals.

In just 17 Premier League appearances this season, Aguero has 15 goals, just two behind the league-leading Jamie Vardy. However, we may not see him in City blue for long.

Aguero made it clear a couple of years ago that he intended to return to Argentina before the end of his career to play for boyhood club Independiente.

His current contract with City ends in 2021 and has yet to commit past then. Aguero will be a huge loss to not only the team but the Premier League if he chooses to depart in 2021 and will go down as one of the greatest ever players to grace the Premier League.
