Seattle Sounders V Galaxy – MLS Game Of The Week Odds

Seattle Sounders vs. LA Galaxy Odds in MLS Game of the Week

With seven games left in the MLS Regular Season, two potential playoff teams face up in a crucial match which can go a long way into deciding seeds. Seattle Sounders, who are the 3rd placed team in the Western Conference host the 4th placed LA Galaxy, where only one point separates the two sides.

The Western Conference is incredibly tight going into the business end of the season. Only three points separate 2nd placed Real Salt Lake and 7th placed FC Dallas.

Seattle goes into the game back in winning ways, defeating the Portland Timbers 2-1 last week. However, that’s their only win in their last five games, in which they’ve conceded 12 goals in the process. Sportsbooks has Seattle’s odds to win the game at -150, making them favorites for the game, despite their poor form.

Seattle Sounders home form may explain why they are favorites since they’ve only lost two games at home all season, against Sporting Kansas City and Portland Timbers, respectively.

LA Galaxy goes into the game without a win in two, however, picked up two valuable points in a tie against Western Conference leaders Los Angeles FC and a tie against their weekend opponents in the corresponding fixture at Los Angeles. The Galaxy would feel hard done by however in those two fixtures, considering they were leading in both matches before conceding their lead and not bridging the gap between themselves and the rest of the Western Conference. ,

La Galaxy Odds and Seattle Sounders Odds

Sportsbooks has an LA Galaxy win opening at +375, despite having the 2nd leading top scorer in the MLS this season and one of the greatest players of his generation in Zlatan Ibrahimović. Despite being 37 years of age, Zlatan is still an elite scorer and leader. He’s taken the bulk of the goal-scoring burden scoring 22 of Galaxy’s 38 goals in the MLS season.

LA Galaxy has a favorable schedule in their last few fixtures of the regular season, facing off against the likes of the lowly Houston Dynamo, Vancouver Whitecaps, Sporting Kansas City and Colorado Rapids. Ibrahimović has spoken highly of the new signing, Argentina national team player Cristian Pavon, who scored his first goal for the Galaxy in the El Trafico last week.

“We were doing good; we’re having fun when we play. [Cristian] Pavón… he’s in the picture now from the last two to three weeks, and I said he’s a quality player, and when you play with quality players, it’s easier to play,” Ibrahimović said.

Sportsbooks has Ibrahimović hitting his 23rd of the season at -120. The odds on a tie occurring between the two sides according to sportsbooks is opening at +300.

This match-up is bound to be a tight contest with either team in a position to lose due to how compact the Western Conference playoff places are.

I would think this game will end up in a tie, with both teams unwilling to go all out for the win, however, the Galaxy has the advantage of having Zlatan Ibrahimović on their team who we know can make something out of nothing.
