Seattle Seahawks at Green Bay Packers

Seattle Seahawks Preview

The Seattle Seahawks will face the Packers for the sixth consecutive season when they visit Green Bay on Sunday. The teams have had four common opponents so far this year: Philadelphia, Carolina, Minnesota and San Francisco. The Seahawks are 5-1 against that group, while the Packers are 3-2, but Seattle hasn’t won at Green Bay since November of 1999.

Quarterback Russell Wilson’s favorite target this season was Tyler Lockett (82 receptions for 1,057 yards and eight TDs), but DK Metcalf is coming on strong after a rookie playoff record 160 yards in Sunday’s win at Philadelphia. Seattle’s running-back tandem of Travis Homer and the recently unretired Marshawn Lynch combined for 19 yards on 17 carries Sunday, though Lynch scored on a 5-yard run.

Green Bay Packers Preview

Coming off a first-round playoff bye, the Green Bay Packers look to win an eighth consecutive game against the Seahawks at Lambeau Field in Sunday’s divisional playoff matchup. The teams didn’t meet in the regular season for the first time since 2013, but this will be their fourth ever playoff meeting, with Green Bay leading the series 2-1. The Packers finished the regular season with five straight victories, including three on the road.

While they finished 13-3, their final two losses came by a combined 44 points at the Los Angeles Chargers and San Francisco. Green Bay went 7-1 at home and 8-1 in games decided by eight points or fewer, but something has to give — Seattle is 8-1 on the road and 11-2 in games decided by eight points or fewer including last week’s win at Philadelphia.
