Washington Redskins at Carolina Panthers

Washington Redskins Odds

With Washington Redskins cornerback Josh Norman coming back to play a game in
Charlotte, N.C., there’s naturally attention on the former Panthers standout. Norman
left in a huff following the 2015 season and a first-team All-Pro campaign with
Carolina. He was a fifth-round draft pick of the Panthers in 2012, so his ties to the
organization run deep. Norman used to have some running practice feuds with Cam
Newton, but the quarterback won’t be playing, as he’s out for the season. Norman,
meanwhile, won’t be playing much, as he’s been demoted to a backup role. As for
the Redskins’ offense, rookie Dwayne Haskins is coming off his first career victory
but did not post rosy numbers, going 13 of 29 for 156 yards and an interception.,

Carolina Panthers Odds

The Carolina Panthers’ kicking game took a sudden turn with last week’s loss at New
Orleans, and there’s more than mere suggestions that the honeymoon has ceased
for rookie Joey Slye. Slye had been admirable while taking over for injured Graham
Gano since the preseason, but he missed a pair of extra-point attempts and a late-
game chip-shot field-goal attempt in last week’s loss to the Saints. The defeat sullied
a bounce-back performance from Kyle Allen, who threw for 256 yards and three
touchdowns with no interceptions, after throwing four picks a week earlier and a total
of nine in his previous four games.
