Nashville Predators at Dallas Stars

Nashville Predators Preview

The Nashville Predators seek a measure of revenge against the Dallas Stars on Wednesday when the Central Division rivals compete in the Winter Classic at the iconic Cotton Bowl Stadium in Dallas. The Predators lost a spirited first-round series against Dallas in the playoffs last spring, and they surrendered four goals in the second period of a 4-1 setback in Nashville on Dec. 14.

Captain Roman Josi, who was a minus-3 in the most recent contest between the teams, will represent Nashville for the third time in his career in the NHL All-Star Game. The 29-year-old notched three assists Saturday in the Predators’ 6-4 setback at Pittsburgh to extend his point streak to seven games, during which he has seven goals and six assists.

Like the Nashville Predators, the Stars will also be making their first appearance in an outdoor game on Wednesday when the Central Division rivals skate at the Cotton Bowl Stadium in Dallas. Roope Hintz scored his team-leading 13th goal on Sunday as the Stars tallied four times in the third period in a 4-2 win against the Arizona Coyotes.

The 23-year-old Finn also tallied to highlight a four-goal second period in Dallas’ 4-1 victory over Nashville on Dec. 14. Alexander Radulov, who notched a pair of assists in that contest against his former club, carries an eight-game point streak (three goals, eight assists) into the rematch on Wednesday. Tyler Seguin, who was selected to play in his sixth NHL All-Star Game, has nine points (five goals, four assists) in his past eight contests.
