New Orleans Pelicans at Houston Rockets

New Orleans Pelicans Preview

Rookie Zion Williamson looks to lead the New Orleans Pelicans to a season high-tying fourth straight win on Sunday afternoon when they visit the Houston Rockets. The top overall pick of the NBA draft, Williams recorded his highest scoring output since returning from arthroscopic surgery on his right knee by recording 24 points in New Orleans’ 139-111 victory over Memphis on Friday.

Newly selected All-Star Brandon Ingram, who added 20 points on Friday, has totaled 62 while making 24 of 39 shots from the field in two games versus Houston this season. The Pelicans’ 127-112 victory over the Rockets on Dec. 29 capped their previous four-game winning streak.

Houston Rockets Preview

The Houston Rockets aim for their fifth win in seven games on Sunday afternoon when they host rookie Zion Williamson and the New Orleans Pelicans. James Harden, who averages an NBA-best 35.6 points per game, collected 35 and a season-high 16 rebounds in Houston’s 128-121 victory over Dallas on Friday. Harden also found his stroke from beyond the arc with six 3-pointers versus the Mavericks after going 8 of 52 in his previous six contests.

Fellow former NBA MVP Russell Westbrook has averaged 37.0 points over his last four games. The Rockets fielded a lineup that featured no player taller than 6-foot-6 with center Clint Capela sidelined with a bruised heel, a situation the team may not want to revisit on Sunday against the 284-pound Williamson.
