Oregon Ducks at Colorado Buffaloes

Oregon Ducks Preview

The Oregon Ducks should be more than ready for Pac-12 play after a nonconference schedule that saw them beat Memphis, a healthy Seton Hall team and Michigan and take losses against Gonzaga and North Carolina. The battle-tested Ducks still have ample room for growth, as five-star freshman big man N’Faly Dante is just getting started, averaging eight points and 15.7 minutes in three games since becoming eligible.

Senior forward Shakur Juiston (8.8 points, 6.5 rebounds per game) remains out. However, junior guard Chris Duarte is coming off a career-high, 31-point effort against Alabama State, and savvy senior point guard Payton Pritchard is the only major conference player averaging at least 18 points, six assists and four rebounds.

Colorado Buffaloes Preview

The Colorado Buffaloes split their two marquee nonconference games — losing at Kansas and beating Dayton in Chicago — and are on the verge of the Top 25 rankings. They carry a six-game home winning streak in Pac-12 play heading into this conference opener and are 33-6 overall in Boulder since the start of the 2017-18 season.

Versatile wing Tyler Bey had 27 points and 10 rebounds in a home win over Oregon last season, and he’s averaging 12.5 points and 9.4 rebounds this season. Colorado won’t concede the point guard matchup to Oregon, as junior McKinley Wright IV drives the offense with 12.8 points and 4.2 assists per game.
