Ohio State Buckeyes at Michigan State Spartans

No. 19 Ohio State Buckeyes Preview

The Ohio State Buckeyes’ wild ride of a season is trending in the right direction, as they head into their regular-season finale having won four in a row — including triumphs over Maryland, Michigan and Illinois — and nine of 11 games.

Starting forward Kyle Young (7.5 points, 5.8 rebounds per game) has missed three contests because of a sprained ankle and is considered day-to-day, but freshman E.J. Liddell stepped up with 17 points and 11 rebounds vs. the Illini on Thursday. Ohio State has the top 3-point attack in the Big Ten at 37.4 percent, and versatile big man Kaleb Wesson can step outside or play bully ball in the paint. He averages team-highs with 14.2 points and 9.4 rebounds.

No. 16 Michigan State Spartans Preview

The Michigan State Spartans are going for at least a share of their third consecutive Big Ten regular-season title, entering on a four-game winning streak, with the past three coming against ranked teams (No. 18 Iowa, No. 9 Maryland, No. 20 Penn State).

Point guard Cassius Winston should get a rousing sendoff on Senior Day; he leads an attack that averages 75.8 points per game, helping the Spartans lead the conference in scoring margin (11.2). Winston is averaging 18.3 points and 5.9 assists and shoots 42.6 percent from 3-point range. Xavier Tillman is the needed inside muscle, coming off a game in which he scored a career-high 23 points with 15 rebounds against Penn State.
