Notre Dame Fighting Irish odds

Notre Dame will look for its first victory of the season in Atlantic Coast Conference action when it visits Syracuse on Saturday afternoon. The Fighting Irish (9-4, 0-2) have dropped games against ACC opponents North Carolina and Boston College to plunge toward the bottom of the conference standings.  

Notre Dame is coming off an 82-56 win over Alabama A&M and now will go on the road for the first time since Dec. 4, when it lost by 21 points to then-No. 3 Maryland. The Fighting Irish are led by forward John Mooney, who is averaging a double-double with 14.9 points and 13.5 rebounds.

Syracuse will try to match a season high with its fourth consecutive victory when it hosts Notre Dame on Saturday afternoon. The Orange are 8-5 overall and 1-1 in Atlantic Coast Conference play. The team has played better as of late with double-digit wins over Oakland (74-62), North Florida (82-70) and Niagara (71-57) since Dec. 18.  

Now comes the fourth installment of a five-game homestand, which will wrap up with a date against Virginia Tech next Tuesday. Elijah Hughes is Syracuse’s top scorer with 19.8 points per game, and Buddy Boeheim is not too far behind with 15.2 points per contest.
